An Interdisciplinary Journey

Deborah "D'vir" Rudin started acting at 9 years old, which only encouraged a love of the arts throughout the years. The actor and creative has delved into many areas of creation, including computer programming, fashion design, videograhy, audio/media design and production, writing, and metallurgy. 

Bio

Deborah "D'vir" Aletha Rudin is an technician and creative currently based in the Twin Cities. D'vir specializes in multimedia and interdisciplinary work, and recently worked in the Media & Broadcast Operations department for Minnesota Public Radio (MPR). In recent years, D'vir has been a Stitcher and Audio/Media technician on several University of Minnesota Theater and Dance shows, including being the Assistant Sound Designer for Anne Boleyn (UMTAD BFA 2024), a Stitcher on School for Lies (UMTAD BFA 2022) , and a Stitcher on Troilus and Cressida (UMTAD BFA 2023) - all three of which were presented at The Guthrie. D'vir was also recently in a production of Fucking A (UMTAD BA 2023) by Suzan Lori-Parks.

D'vir started acting through the Young Shakespeare Players (YSP) in Madison, WI at the age of 9. From then until 16, the actor performed in full length Shakespeare, Shaw, and Dickens shows. This served as the start of the artist's acting education and costuming experience. Later on, D'vir continued to act and be a member of both the Sound and Costume Crews in High School. Deciding to go to the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, D'vir ended up studying Theater Arts and Computer Science. This combination allowed for D'vir's passion for multisensory and interdisciplinary works to flourish, establishing the path that would later lead to the artist's professional career.
